Superteam VN Monthly Recap: Mar 2025
First of all, we are the 3rd Superteam in the world join the $1M GDP club! 🎉 This is a great milestones for the community, showing our strength and momentumn. Let's dive in
March kicked off right where we left last month—full throttle and firing on all cylinders. Our community hit the ground running, tackling challenges, crushing goals, and setting the stage for another epic month.
Before running into the formal and detail report which you can see a nicer version here on X, written by dfrvci, I want to take a few paragraph to do a tldr; on what we did it right and wrong and roughly what is the game plan for April.
What’s Good?
Last month we crushed it with 28 events in 31 days! I can see the energy rippling through our community members. Most events are in-bound, meaning we are activating existing community members: giving them ideas to build, supporting them on how to build those ideas. We did have few out-bound events, ranging from career workshop to workshop-with-partner like the “Build in Public” community. Running a community is running an event company, I get it.
We also started bringing Solana mainstream, talking to enterprises and local government. This never happened before, at least on this level. We started to see the community leaders emerge, which is wonderful. “Decentralization is about the abundance of leaders, not the absence of them.” – meow.
What’s Bad?
We focused too much on technical workshops and too little on startup building. A big chunk of our community is founders and obviously they need training on product / business / marketing / pr / etc. We are doing too little on that side. It was my fault, as an engineer I always have a big bias for “hard” science over “soft” ones. Time to change.
We are not doing out-reach as much as we did. The bonding starts showing but lack of new faces! There are 100 millions people in Vietnam and how much portion of that Superteam Vietnam represents? Quantity has the quality itself!
We are a bit disorganised! Events are announced a bit of last-minutes, presentations have incorrect information and so on.
What is the April game plan?
(1) Fix the “startup building” bit ASAP: The global hackathon is coming fast and we need to help our founders on business building skill. Let’s get started with basics like Business Model Canvas and ask them to start TELL THE STORY. The most important task this month is asking people to create a social media account for what they are doing, and post on that account DAILY. If you are reading this and you want help, sign up for Solana Summer Camp in Da Nang from 14 April to 20 April. We are doing that DAILY.
(2) Out-reach! out-reach! out-reach! Tbh, I am engineer and an introvert. I enjoy writing this bit than small talk. Social activity drains me. But, we need to change that because the Superteam Vietnam’s social media channel is the social capital of every community members. If we can get our X to 10 millions (real) followers, we get a much better chances for our members to win whatever attention competition out there. If we can get our home in HN, DN, HCMC a popular destination for blockchain people all over the world then our founders find much easier time to do fund raising and BD.
Let’s make it real, I do not have a good plan on this. Please reach out to me if you know how to fix this.
I guess a 2 bullet points action plan is more practical than 3. Btw, for this part of this artcile I choose to not use AI to keep my energy and though genuine to you. Hope you find this useful.
And now, let’s go to the professional write-up.
